Weddings

Marriage is a sacrament and is held in the highest regard at Holy Faith. It is a religious covenant into which a couple come to Christ’s altar to receive God’s blessing as they commit themselves to each other. Canon Law requires that at least one of the parties to be married be baptized in the Name of the Trinity. All weddings at Holy Faith are done in the context of Christian worship, an we assume that by requesting to have your wedding here you share these convictions.

A couple wishing to be married at Holy Faith should contact the church office for information. We at Holy Faith also have a parish hall available for rental to go along with our church. There will be an extra fee to go along with this usage, separate from the church usage fee.

Baptisms & Confirmations

To officially become a member of the Episcopal Church, persons are confirmed or received by the bishop, representing the whole church. This usually happens after receiving instructions. To be confirmed is to renew the baptismal vows made as infants on their behalf. To be received is appropriate for members who have been confirmed in another church or baptized as adults in a different church and want to become members in the Episcopal Church.

Baptisms are performed for adults and infants who are members of the church. Membership in the church is defined by regular attendance and support of the ministry of the church. Baptisms are scheduled at specific feasts/celebrations during the regular church service. They are: Easter Vigil, Day of Pentecost, All Saints’ Day (or the Sunday after All Saints’ Day), Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord (the First Sunday after the Epiphany) and when a bishop is present.

Funerals

The liturgy for the dead is an Easter liturgy. It finds all its meaning in the resurrection. Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we, too, shall be raised.
The liturgy, therefore, is characterized by the joy in the certainty that “neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Please contact the priest in charge, the Reverend Jennifer Wagner Pavia before making arrangements with the funeral home to insure availability of the clergy and church.
